First day in Aukland!

So our first day was really the day that we got in, because we landed and got checked into the hostel all before 9 am!

Leaving the Airport we spotted our first truly odd car...

We were hungry for food and adventure so we set off on making our way to centeral Auckland or "the hub"as it is known, this is on queen street.

on our way there we ran into some pretty cool stuff,

Kinda odd seeing a different flag flying than the 'Merican one

our room at the hostel

A GIANT kiwi statue

and Bobba Fete approves!

Waiting for the bus

bus stop next to the cemetery...

thats the old highway bridge... 2 lanes... now its three on each side.

First Kiwi Porsche!! long live the boxter.

getting off the train I snabbed some good stuff too,

Skylight at the downtown train station

we ended up eating at the base of the Sky Tower, at an average but good buffet called Fontana, which is evidently in a casino...

Another strange car...

After eatting we meet up with one Mrs Practically perfect Here we had diner and some great conversation!! I look forward to seeing her and her husband again soon!!

On our way back to the train station, I was graced by an Aston DBS hell ya!!

A very cool painting on the side of a walled up building

Weird looking coke bottle, yes it has real sugar :-)

Satin Audi just chillin on the side of a street

Another view... but what is that across the street?!?!?!

Oh Hell ya Nissan Skyline

Second Porsche of the day, Panamara

the top of that skylight at the train station.

Cadbury is evidently made here in New Zealand and the make more than eggs it seems...

Most of the trains are diesel electric for now...

and of course Amber finds a 99c store... whice nothing in there was 99c I guess thats the + or - 99 store...

so after everything is said and done we had a pretty good day... off for another adventure in Auckland and hopefully a phone and a car.

See you Soon,
Bryan

  1. Oh yes, Cadbury definitely makes more than eggs :-) I love their caramello bars. Chris prefers Whittakers chocolates, though. Hope you guys are doing well!
